Opening Scene: Overlaid images and scenery with the voiceover of the character, lines are however may be changed if time is limited…
Xara: Normal people can’t comprehend that which I can see and hear; they fear that which they don’t understand. They fear the night and the darkness that it brings and that which may be lurking within. I was once like them, things happened to me that I couldn’t understand, thrust into a world that I couldn’t quite comprehend, but then things turned bad and I couldn’t stand it anymore, stuck in a triangle of deception with one person I truly loved caught in the middle with me. I didn’t have many choices, and I did what i had to do to get out with what little was left of my sanity. My name is Xara and this is something that happened to me it is the story of things that have happened and things that are yet to happen but are coming…..
Scene 001:
An old shed in the middle of nowhere, two people can be seen inside, as the camera moves closer it can be seen that one of them is Xara the other is an unknown male, they are talking quietly and the unknown man looks nervous while Xara looks calm and collected.
Xara: Leo you know that things are here that you can’t see, if you learn to you will be able to feel them not always see them but you will feel their presence and you will be able to tell whether they mean you any harm or not .
Leo: What is it? What can you see that I can’t?
Smiles and turns away: the camera angle changes to show that Leo is nervous over Xaras shoulder. Xara is facing the camera.
Xara: “LAUGHS” Leo I never said that I saw anything… only that you’ll be able to feel the presence of things that don’t belong and that in turn as you get more experience you will possibly be able to see that which others cannot.
Xara turns to face Leo once more.
Leo: cut it out Xara I’m not kidding I think that I can sense something here it doesn’t feel right.
Xara: well maybe there is more potential in you than I originally thought there was.
Leo: well what is it? It doesn’t feel right. And I don’t think that it is because we are trespassing…it’s something more.
Xara: well truly you are a wonder, if you are feeling like you are being watched it is because you are there is something here we just can’t see it, it is neutral and we have no need to fear its presence.
Leo: then why is it I feel the need to run away? If it truly means me no harm then why do I feel this way?
Xara: you don’t understand that which is happening to you and people naturally run from that which they don’t understand even more so if it is considered to be “TABOO” by normal society.
Leo: What do you mean and what do the others think of this?
Xara: “laughs” People run from things they don’t understand, as for the others they haven’t got a clue; with all the infighting they aren’t sure which way is up. That’s why I prefer to work alone.
Leo: Why are you teaching me then, if you like to work alone why take me under your wing?
Xara: I need someone to watch my back at times and spirits and things of the paranormal aren’t always going to be around I need a “human” counter part that can help me and out of all of the people in this group I trust you the most Jack and the others haven’t got a clue what my work is about and I have to say that you seem to have some genuine potential in this area so yeah… no other reason…
Leo: So how many of us are there? Do you know? And what is the deal with Jack?
Xara: I don’t think that anyone does, as there are groups of us in other countries too…
Jack seems to have it in his head that he is all powerful and he thinks he is above everyone else which is ridiculous. Jack is surprised by anything or anyone who won’t back down from a fight.
Leo: That explains a lot…Can we get out of here I am starting to feel uncomfortable…
Xara: Okay, and the reason for you feeling uncomfortable is that the neutral spirit that is here wants us to leave him in peace before we bring other things into his home.
Leo: thought you said you didn’t see anything…
Xara: Well my friend that was to cover my tracks and to see if you could see through my act. And guess what you’ve passed.
Leo: Passed what?
Xara: I test everyone on how perceptive they are and you have just passed, you picked up my lie and now we move on to other lessons, “laughs” there is definitely hope for you yet Leo…
They exit the old shed the camera changes to show them both climbing out of the window; Leo walks off screen as he does so Xara stops and watches him intently as if he is a riddle to be deciphered Leo is oblivious to this. Xara smiles to herself and then goes back to what she was doing looks down shakes her head and walks off after him…it fades to black.
Scene 002
Xara and Leo are in Xaras house when the phone rings, the camera shows a close up of Xara’s mobile phone screen and Jacks number is displayed, Xara looks at Leo hen at the Phone, Leo shrugs and he walks out of the shot, Xara answers the phone…
Xara: Hello?
Jack: Hi…What’s this cryptic bullshit that you have sent me?
Xara: Nice Jack…I’m good thanks how are you?
Jack: Don’t fuck me around Xara! I need to know what is going on!
Xara: Bullshit you do! If you can’t figure it out then I’m not telling you, you know that I can’t any way.
Jack: Why the hell not!!!
Xara: You already know the answer to that question Jack! I’m not your lap dog…
Jack: What the…Where did all this come from? I never said you were.
Xara: Well if you never said I was your lap dog, don’t bloody treat me like one then.
Jack: I don’t.
Xara: Yeah Sure…
Jack: Listen, I need to know, and I need to know now…
Xara: Forget it I’m not telling you anything, if you need to know so badly then figure it out yourself…
Jack: Xara, Just tell me…
Xara: You don’t get it Jack! You just don’t understand…
Jack: What do you mean that I don’t understand?
Xara: Exactly that Jack, you don’t understand, you never understand what is going on you assume everything and for fucks sake if you don’t get what I’m trying to tell you and you understand the reasons as to why I cannot tell you straight then why are you always hassling me? Why if Leo can understand why can’t you?
Jack: Just tell me Xara, I can’t figure it out and the others haven’t got a clue, Doc doesn’t know neither do Shane or Ben so you’re the only one who can tell me…
Xara: You know that I can’t tell you Jack, you know that the logic that your running on doesn’t work and I’m not telling you not when you know why I can’t. I’m sick of your ignorance and the bullshit that you put me through you know I can only give you clues to the puzzle the rest is up to you… I’m not standing by you any longer..
Jack: … (SILENCE)…
Xara: …(HANGS UP THE PHONE)… (ENGAGED TONE)…
Leo comes back into the room and looks at Xara he looks worried…
Leo: What was that about???
Xara: A supposed spiritual conflict building up in Sydney. I’m getting so sick of Jack, he just doesn’t understand…I need to talk to Shane…
Leo: Are You Okay?
Xara: No! I’m fed up with Jacks bullshit, he cannot possibly comprehend just how hard it is for me not to tell him the things I know… (SIGHS) He knows why I can’t tell him anyway so I just don’t get it…I don’t get him…
Leo: It’s all right he will figure it out eventually.
Xara: No, and I don’t care anymore he is too drugged up to realise what he is doing so I’m not dealing with him any more, he’s dead to me…
Leo: Don’t say that Xara… He is just a complaining son of a bitch that’s all. Ignore him…
Xara: Wish I could but it’s not that simple, I’m not putting up with his shit anymore.
Leo: Okay, but you know what I think about burning bridges like that…
Xara: Yeah well he burnt it before I did so, I don’t care…I need to burn this one for myself I need to leave him behind.
Leo: (PUTS AND ARM AROUND XARAS SHOULDERS) I’ll support your decision either way…
Xara: (SMILES AND LOOKS AT LEO AND SIGHS) Yeah, I know but I don’t want to drag you into this shit with Jack…
Leo: You didn’t…
(Fades to black…)
